# Agent Setup

> How to set up your agent to use the latest docs. Choose from MCP, llms.txt, Markdown pages, and skills.

These tools help agents correctly use the HTTP APIs and libraries when implementing workflows.

## Connect with MCP

Use MCP when the agent must search several docs pages during a task. The Code Storage MCP server
searches guides, SDK reference pages, and HTTP API pages.

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
https://code.storage/docs/mcp
```

### Claude Code

Add the server and check the connection:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
claude mcp add --transport http code-storage https://code.storage/docs/mcp
claude mcp list
```

### Cursor

Open the MCP settings. Add this server:

```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "code-storage": {
      "url": "https://code.storage/docs/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

Create `.vscode/mcp.json`. Add this server:

```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
{
  "servers": {
    "code-storage": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://code.storage/docs/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Load `llms.txt`

Use `llms.txt` when the agent can load one URL as context. Give the agent this docs index:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
https://code.storage/docs/llms.txt
```

Use a direct instruction:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
Use https://code.storage/docs/llms.txt as the source of truth for Code Storage.
Use only the documented SDK and HTTP API behavior.
```

## Load one Markdown page

Use Markdown when the agent needs one guide or reference page. Request the page as Markdown:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
curl -L -H "Accept: text/markdown" https://code.storage/docs/repos/webhooks
```

You can also add `.md` to the page URL:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
https://code.storage/docs/repos/webhooks.md
```

## Install the Code Storage skills

Use the skills when the agent supports reusable task instructions. Install them from the
`pierrecomputer/skills` repository:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"min-dark"}}
npx skills add pierrecomputer/skills
```

The repository has two skills:

* `pierre`: how to use Code Storage through the HTTP API, the TypeScript, Python, and Go SDKs, or
  the `pierre` CLI. It sends the agent to these docs for the details of each operation.
* `pierre-migrate`: moves code from the earlier Code Storage SDKs and the deprecated HTTP routes to
  `@pierre/sdk` and the current routes.

Reload the agent after you install the skills. Ask the agent to use the `pierre` skill for Code
Storage tasks, and the `pierre-migrate` skill to move existing code.

The skills do not replace the current docs. Use MCP or `llms.txt` with the skills when the agent
needs current method details.
